ANNA, Ill. -- Burl Lacy, 83, of Anna died Saturday, June 15, 1996, at the Union County Hospital.
He was born Nov. 14, 1912, in Union County, Ill., son of William A. and Martha Lacy. He and Violet M. Belcher were married Feb. 24, 1940, at Jackson. She survives.
Lacy worked as a carpenter until retiring in 1980. He lived in Hobart, Ind., for many years before moving back to Illinois two years ago. He was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Hobart and was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include a son, Phillip Burl Lacy of Katy, Texas, and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Ill.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Gerald Day officiating. Burial will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery.
