Funeral service for Buford C. Cargle, 91, 1721 Whitener, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. John Owen will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Monday. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30.
Cargle died Wednesday, May 22, 1991, in Oklahoma City, Okla.
He was born July 11, 1899, at Zalma, son of John and Mary Cargle. He and the former Pearle Moore were married Aug. 4, 1920, at Jackson. She died Aug. 23, 1971.
Cargle was a brakeman with Frisco Railroad. He was a member of St. Mark Masonic Lodge 93, and had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1920.
Survivors include a brother, Johnny Cargle of Cape Girardeau, two sisters, Aleen Juniker of Jackson, Miss., Kathleen Cargle of Urbana; four granddaughters, 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, four brothers and three sisters.
