BUFFORD BENNETT

MARBLE HILL -- Funeral service for Bufford Bennett of Marble Hill was held Saturday at Liley Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Gene Robbins officiated, with burial in McGee Chapel Cemetery at Glen Allen.

Bennett, 81, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 30, 1911, son of Nathan Alexander and Cora Jane Fox Bennett. On Jan. 5, 1933, he married Josie Rosebud Abernathy. She preceded him in death July 5, 1989.

Bennett was a member of Calvin Baptist Church in Chaffee.

Survivors include three sons, Wayne Bennett of Lapeer, Mich., Paul Bennett of St. Charles, Perry Bennett of Glen Allen; two brothers, Earl Bennett of Bernie, Otis Bennett of East Prairie; two sisters, Mildred George of Sikeston, Louise Ellis of Bernie; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sons and two brothers.
