SIKESTON, Mo. -- O. L. "Bud" Daugherty Jr., 83, of Sikeston died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at his home.
He was born March 8, 1917, in Matthews, Mo., son of Oliver L. and Florence Cardwell Daugherty Sr. He and Clauda V. Tribbey were married April 3, 1948, in Sikeston.
Daugherty was a terminal superintendent for Texaco, Inc., for 30 years. He worked for Texaco in Sikeston, Caruthersville, Mo., Dearborn, Mich., Topeka, Kan., and Mount Vernon, Mo. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II in England and Germany, with the 343rd fighter squadron. Daugherty hosted the first reunion of his squadron on the 25th anniversary of World War II and hosted other reunions in 1981, 1984 and 1986.
Survivors include his wife and four sisters, Alice Bush, Maxine Poole and June Freshour of Sikeston and Mary Hogan of East Prairie, Mo.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Jim Davis officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
