ADVANCE, Ill. -- Bryant R. Norman, 84, of Advance passed away Friday, April 19, 2013, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born Oct. 3, 1928, in Weaver County, Iowa, son of Orie and Hattie Ferrel Norman. Bryant retired from Inland Shoe Factory after working 18 years as a maintenance foreman. ADVANCE, Ill. -- Bryant R. Norman, 84, of Advance passed away Friday, April 19, 2013, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 3, 1928, in Weaver County, Iowa, son of Orie and Hattie Ferrel Norman.

Bryant retired from Inland Shoe Factory after working 18 years as a maintenance foreman. He believed in the Baptist faith.

Bryant and Dorothy Masters were united in marriage on Nov. 1, 1948, at Piggott, Ark., and she survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, Dorothy Norman of Advance, survivors include a son, Bryant Norman Jr. of Jackson; four daughters, Doris Evans of Bridgeton, Mo., Kay Smith of Hillsboro, Mo., Brenda Leadbetter of Grassy, Mo., and Lori Malone of Delta; two brothers, Carol Norman of Florida and Ralph Norman of Millington, Mich.; three sisters, Geraldine Young of Henderson, Tenn., Gladys Pikey of Burton, Mich., and Mary Young of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Elijah Allen officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
