Brian Dale Weiss, 49, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, June 15, 2017, at the home of his parents in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 17, 1967, in Cape Girardeau to Robert Dale and Barbara Kay Burton Weiss.

He graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1985 and from Southeast Missouri State University in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in biology.

Brian was first and foremost a family man and loving father. He was an Eagle Scout and continued to stay very active in the Boy Scouts of America throughout his life. He was a scoutmaster and a Vigil Honor recipient in the Order of the Arrow.

He was owner/operator of Weiss Construction for 25 years, a franchisee of Little Caesars Pizza for 17 years and Pro Image Sports for seven years.

He was a lifetime member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include his parents, Robert Dale and Barbara Kay Weiss of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Jared (Emily) Weiss of Scott City and Jordan (fiancee Jessica Rataj) Weiss of Jackson; three grandchildren, Colton, Collin and Carter Weiss; paternal grandmother, Ruth M. Weiss of Doe Run, Missouri; and a brother, Robert W. (Elaine) Weiss of Fenton, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents William H. and Lillian M. Burton; and paternal grandfather Robert T. Weiss.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Church of the Nazarene in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Jason Hill officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to Boys Scouts of America.
