Brian C. Meier, 44, of Jackson passed away Monday, Sept. 4, 2023, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born April 1, 1979, in Cape Girardeau to Paul "Butch" and Eileen Hartmann Meier. Brian C. Meier, 44, of Jackson passed away Monday, Sept. 4, 2023, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 1, 1979, in Cape Girardeau to Paul "Butch" and Eileen Hartmann Meier. Brian was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. He was a 1997 graduate of Jackson High School. He and Paula Eftink were married Nov. 1, 2003, in Chaffee, Missouri.

Brian was a fifth-generation farmer on the family farm just south of Jackson, where he managed Butch’s Angus and developed a true passion for Angus cattle, showing on local, state and national levels.

Brian’s affiliations include the American Angus Association; Missouri Angus Association (past president); Missouri Cattleman's Association; SEMO Cattlemen's Association, MFA (board member); SEMO District Fair (board member and beef superintendent); and the Elks Lodge in Jackson.

Loving survivors include his wife of nearly 20 years, Paula Meier, and their children, Josey, Gracyn and Baxter Meier; his parents, Paul "Butch" and Eileen Meier; and a brother, Greg (Lesley) Meier, and their family, all of Jackson.

Survivors of Paula's family include her parents, Eugene and Jerralee Eftink of Chaffee; her siblings and their families, Kevin Eftink of Park Hills, Missouri, LeAnn (Chris) Hans of Eureka, Missouri, Janelle (Mike) Bailey of Wildwood, Missouri, Robynn (Bob) Hambrick of Desloge, Missouri, Keith (Julie) Eftink and Gina (Randal) Vandeven of Chaffee and Erin (Bruce) Pfeifer of Cape Girardeau.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

The Rev. Joshua Schmidt will conduct the funeral at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at the church. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Meier Children Scholarship Fund or a charity of your choice.

Arrangements are by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
