DEXTER, Mo. -- Brian J. Evans, 42, of Dexter died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
He was born March 30, 1959, in Sikeston, son of Bill and Patricia Carr Evans.
Evans was a heavy equipment operator for J.H. Berra Construction in St. Louis. He was an officer eight years with Sikeston Department of Public Safety. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 513.
He served with Missouri National Guard Company C 1140th Engineering Battalion in Sikeston 22 years, retiring as a staff sergeant.
Survivors include a son, Curt Evans of Dexter; his father of Dexter; a brother, Bill A. Evans of Scottsdale, Ariz.; five sisters, Carol Stayton and Sonya Parr of Dexter, Cynthia Herren of Branson, Mo., Carmen Price of Maryville, Tenn., and Amy Johnston of Eaton Rapids, Mich.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and his mother.
Friends may call at Rainey Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Charleston, Mo.
