ADVANCE, Mo. -- Brenda Sue Hickman Sivert, 69, of Advance was called to enter Heaven's Gates for her eternal rest Saturday, June 11, 2022, at St. Louis University Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born Jan. 9, 1953, in Steelville, Missouri, daughter of Clarence Ray and Geneva Ruth Harmon Ray. She and Rodger Sivert were married April 6, 1991, in Steelville. He survives.
Brenda was a founding member of Cape County Cowboy Church in Oak Ridge. She showed, trained and loved spending time with her horses. Her happiest times were on a horse. Brenda was a custom western frame artist and owned and operated the Spare Rib restaurant in Steelville for several years.
Loving survivors include her husband of 31 years; two daughters, Lesley Hutson of Steelville and Whitley (Gabe) Ford of Jackson; two sons, Wes (Jill) Hickman of Berryman, Missouri, and Chad (Kristi) Sivert of Campbell, Missouri; two brothers, Bobby (Rita) Ray and Randy Ray, both of Steelville; two sisters, Caroline (Butch) Tomnitz of Rolla, Missouri, and Cristy (Lisa) Swyers of Steelville; three half-brothers, LeRoy Martin of Steelville, Clarence Ray of Rolla and Marion Ray of Cuba, Missouri.
Also surviving are three grandsons, Clayton Hutson of Steelville, Devin Sivert of Campbell and Travis Ford of Jackson, and several nieces and nephews.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents and a stepfather, Bill Adams.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Pastor Jim Matthews officiating. Interment will follow at 4 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery in Berryman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may take the form of contributions to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at lls.org and Cape Girardeau County Cowboy Church.
Brenda's family would like to give a special thank you to all the doctors, nurses and technicians at St. Louis University Hospital who provided such diligent and kind care to her.
