Funeral for Brenda Joyce Eakin of Cape Girardeau will be held at 10 a.m. today at Lynwood Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens at Sikeston.

Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Eakin, 55, died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998, in an automobile accident near Ware, Ill.

She was born April 30, 1943, at New Madrid, daughter of John A. and Zora Perrigan Dixon. She and Jim Eakin were married Aug. 16, 1964, at Bell City.

Eakin and her husband owned and operated a car rental business. She was a member of Lynwood Church.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Christopher and Mandy Eakin of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Dr. Lori Eakin of Kansas City; five brothers, Jim Dixon of St. Louis, Joe Dixon of Belton, Texas, Ted Dixon of Collinsville, Ill., Johnie and Don Dixon of Sikeston; two sisters, Norma Davis of Advance, Linda Webster of Belleville, Ill.; and a grandchild.
