MARBLE HILL -- Stephen Bradley "Brad" Filer, 48, of Marble Hill died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 20, 1950, in Cape Girardeau, son of Lester "Red" and Jewell Beasley Filer.

Filer had worked at Lutesville Pallet Co.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He received a Purple Heart; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal with two campaign stars; Vietnam Campaign Medal; Combat Infantry, Expert, Sharp Shooter, and Hand Grenade Badges.

Survivors include three daughters, Lesta Crittenden of Springdale, Ark., Krystal and Karrie Filer of Marble Hill; his mother of Marble Hill; and a brother, Jerry Filer of Marble Hill.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Dr. John Englehart officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery.
