Bonnie Wilcox
Bonnie Fay Crain Wilcox passed away Saturday, May 31, 2008, in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 23, 1920, in rural Columbus, Kan. Bonnie's parents were John and Frances Sales Crain. She married Homer Carl Wilcox on Jan. 26, 1939. Homer preceded her in death Aug. 2, 2000.
Bonnie was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Merle and Clifford Crain; sisters, Pearl Hale, Wilma Corn, Vera Cowley, Millie Wilcox and Bueanna "Teddy" Trimble.
Bonnie moved to Cape Girardeau in 2001 to be near her daughters, Carolyn Taylor and Connie Gibson.
She is survived by sisters Wamyth Geasland of Springfield, Mo., Charlea (Peggy) Harwood of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and a brother, Harlan Crain of Pittsburg, Kan. Bonnie is also survived by her grandchildren, Carla (Dr. Steve) Jordan of Cape Girardeau, Brian (Wren) Taylor of rural Baxter Springs, Kan., and Troy (Sandy) Gibson of Greenville, Miss. Her surviving great-grandchildren are Airman Beau Jordan, Mick Jordan, Lilly Jordan, Tucker Taylor, Sam Taylor, Ace Taylor and Caylin Gibson.
Bonnie was a member of First Christian Church of Columbus.
Her loved ones will always remember her sharp wit, her joyous singing and her beautiful laughter.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at Simpson Funeral Home, 323 South Kansas Ave., Columbus, Kan.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dan Haggard officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery in Columbus.
A celebration memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Abbey Road Christian Church, 2411 Abbey Road in Cape Girardeau.
