Bobby Wooten

Bobby Glenn Wooten, 54, of Jackson died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at his home.

He was born Sept. 12, 1954, in Muncie, Ind., son of Glenn Virgil and LaVon Tessie Linville Wooten. He and Sherry Lynn Buntin were married Feb. 9, 1974, in Muncie. She preceded him in death in September 1997. He and Melissa Wheeler were married Oct. 18, 2008, in Tuscumbia, Ala.

He loved street muscle cars. He was a member of Blue Knights and Indiana Fraternal Order of Police.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Grady Wooten of Cape Girardeau, Justin Wooten of Jackson; three daughters, Mandy Johnson, Erica Wooten and Shadowlyn Wheeler, all of Jackson; a brother, Bill Wooten of Jackson; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Joe Wheeler officiating.
