DANVILLE, Ill. -- Bobby "Gene" Heuring, 66, of Danville, Ill., died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997, at his home.
He was born Nov. 30, 1930, in Danville to Garland Earl and Nettie Alexander Heuring. He married Patty Young on Jan. 14, 1951, in Danville.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.
He formerly worked for the C&EL Railroad, Missouri Pacific Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad.
He was a member of the Danville Central Christian Church and a life member of Olive Branch Masonic Lodge 38, Danville Elks 332 and the C&EL Historical Society.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Pat Heuring of Perryville; a brother, Don Heuring of Michigan; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and a son.
Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. at Pape Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens in Danville. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Jerry Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Danville.
