Bobby Hess, 54, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Oct. 28, 1942, in Yukon, Va., son of Robert A. and Gertrude A. Moore Hess.
Hess was a graduate of Chicago State Teachers College and received a master's degree in education from Northeastern Illinois State College.
He taught in Chicago, Minnesota, Southeast Missouri State University School, and taught at Park Hills Central from 1986 until retiring in 1996. He also coached boys football and girls basketball at Park Hills.
Hess moved to Cape Girardeau in 1996 from Perryville.
Survivors include his father, Robert Hess of Tucson, Ariz.; his mother, Gertrude Sutton of Dayton, Ohio; his fiancee, Joyce Barylski of Cape Girardeau; and a half brother, John Hess of Tucson.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel after noon Friday.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jim Osborn officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
