SCOTT CITY -- Bobby Edward Ray, 56, of Commerce, died Saturday, April 17, 1993, at Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born May 6, 1936, at Pike County, Ky., son of William Bennett and Gertrude Williamson Ray.
He was married to Mary Helen Upchurch.
Ray was a retired worker for Creative Fence Design in Chicago, Ill. He also served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the House of Prayer General Baptist Church in Grant City.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Kenneth Cook of Benton; five daughters, Virginia Walls of Chicago, Ill., Susan Cook of Springfield, Ill., Barbara Ray of Springfield, Ill., Kimberly West of Commerce, Mary West of Commerce; two brothers, Spencer Ray of Ocala, Fla., Lawrence Ray of Chicago, Ill.; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, with the Rev. Bob Burnes officiating.
Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce.
