CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Bobbie Lee Haggett, son of the late Clyde Sr. and Lottie Absheer Haggett, was born Jan. 10, 1940, in Granite City, Illinois, and departed this life Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, at his home in Chaffee at the age of 79 years.

On March 24, 1990, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Jane Corbett in Cape Girardeau. She survives of the home in Chaffee.

Bobbie was a former construction worker in St. Louis and also worked for Hussman Refrigeration. In the 1970s, he played banjo for the Plummer Family in Branson, Missouri, and recorded many albums. Bobbie also owned and operated a refrigeration business in Piedmont, Missouri, serving a wide area. He worked for Storey's Food Giant Co. until 1993.

He was beloved by many, never met a stranger and made friends easily.

Besides his wife, survivors include sons, Kevin Haggett, Darren (Jennifer) Haggett and Shaun (Staci) Haggett; brother, Clyde (Arlene) Haggett; a special grandson, Landon Haggett (Robyn Bowen); and other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

An Elks service will be at 10 a.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, with the funeral afterward. Interment will follow at Woods Cemetery in Piedmont.
