Bobbie G. "Ray" Fornkohl, 75, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, June 19, 2011, at Heartland Care and Rehab.

He was born April 21, 1936, to Henry C. and Mary D. Comer Fornkohl. He was baptized June 28, 1936, at Egypt Mills Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. A.H. Schmidt. He was sponsored by Mrs. Elvis Moore.

Fornkohl had six brothers and four sisters. His mother passed away March 5, 1939, and Bobbie Gene lived with his father on the farm until he passed away Dec. 29, 1968.

At age 34, Bobbie Gene was taken in April 1969 to Bethesda Lutheran Home in Watertown, Wis., and lived there until about July 2001, when they moved him to Bethesda Group Home in Springfield, Ill. He moved to Cape Girardeau on Dec. 3, 2004, to Heartland Care and Rehab, where he had been ever since.

Survivors include three brothers, Lester (Barbara) Fornkohl, Norman (Betty) Fornkohl, Delbert (Sue) Fornkohl, all of Egypt Mills; a sister, Eva Feuerhahn of Cape Girardeau; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Scriptural evangelical Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills, with the Rev. Mark Rodgers officiating. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery at Egypt Mills.
