Bob G. Jones, 61, of 2613 Gardenia died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 10, 1930, at Lamar, Ark., the son of Fred and Flossie Waldo Jones. On May 5, 1956, he married Wilma Enderle at Kelso. She survives of the home.
He was a truck driver for 30 years, working for Inman and Yellow Freight companies. He also was a member of the National Guard for 38 years, including 16 years as first sergeant. He served two years in Japan during the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau, Teamsters Union #574, the Knights of Columbus, Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post 3838, and the Retired National Guard Association.
Other survivors include his mother, Flossie Newbold of Russellville, Ark.; three sons, Robert Jones of Jackson, Bill Jones of Kelso and Dan Jones of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Ronda Jones of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Glenn Jones of Dover, Ark. and Irl Jones of Piktin, La.; a sister, Ruth Gibbs of Tuscon, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4-8 today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau, where parish prayers will be at 7:30 and K.C. rosary at 8 tonight. Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Father Michael Zoellner will officiate, and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
