Blanche Clegg, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, at her home.
She was born May 5, 1926, in Murray, Utah, daughter of George and Jessie Fox Cox. She and Allan Clegg were married in Tooele, Utah.
Clegg was a graduate of the University of Utah and Southern Utah University. She was a member of the ACLU, numerous environmental groups and peace organizations. She moved to Cape Girardeau in August 2006 from Parowan, Utah.
Survivors include four daughters, Jacqueline Nelson of Cape Girardeau, Corrinne Hales of Fresno, Calif., Marian Biasi of Parowan, Valerie Marmon of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; two sons, John Clegg of Cedar City, Utah, Stephen Clegg of Las Vegas; four brothers, Jesse Cox of Texas, Marion Cox of Draper, Utah, Azile Cox of Wyoming, Kenneth Cox of Farmington, Utah; a sister, Rosemary Alder of Salt Lake City; 26 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son and a brother.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Salt Lake City.
