GRAND CHAIN, Ill. -- Blanche Curry Baker, 82, of Grand Chain, formerly of Pulaski, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 1994, at the Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Metropolis. She was born Nov. 5, 1912, near Olmsted, the daughter of Arthur Olen and Martha Mattie Caudle Curry. She married Norman Lee "Rex" Baker, who preceded her in death June 14, 1992...

GRAND CHAIN, Ill. -- Blanche Curry Baker, 82, of Grand Chain, formerly of Pulaski, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 1994, at the Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Metropolis.

She was born Nov. 5, 1912, near Olmsted, the daughter of Arthur Olen and Martha Mattie Caudle Curry. She married Norman Lee "Rex" Baker, who preceded her in death June 14, 1992.

Baker was a member of the Karnak Baptist Church, a former member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Pulaski, a former member of the Senior Citizens Smiles II Center in Ullin and was a retired retail clerk.

Survivors include one daughter, Jean McClellan of Grand Chain; two sisters, Juanita Parker of Villa Ridge and Viola Dover of Grand Chain; one brother, John Curry of Olmsted; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may call today between 6 and 9 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the funeral at 11 a.m. at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Pulaski. The Rev. Jerry Day will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Pulaski.
