Billy Whitaker

PERRYVILLE, Mo. --Billy J. Whitaker, 73, of Perryville died Thursday, July 30, 2003, at his home.

He was born June 14, 1930, at Leachville, Ark., son of Ernest and Flora K. Bogart Whitaker. He and Mary Boone were married Nov. 22, 1947.

Whitaker was the owner and operator of a truck repair shop in St. Louis for 27 years.

Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Billy Don Whitaker of Perryville and Bobby Whitaker of St. Charles, Mo.; a daughter, Debra Coomer of Perryville; a sister, Irene Bullock of Alabama; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturday at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Visitation will continue Sunday until the funeral at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Matthew Marks will officiate. Burial will be at Whitewater Christian Cemetery in Perry County. Graveside military honors will be courtesy of the American Legion Post No. 133.
