EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral for Billy Thomas Weems of East Prairie will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Mike Cartwright and Mike Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
Weems, 48, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at East Prairie Nursing Center.
He was born May 4, 1950, in Mississippi County, son of William Thomas and Julie Mallie Carlyle Weems.

Weems lived in Mississippi County all his life and was a farmer.
Survivors include his mother of East Prairie; six brothers, William, Jerome and Roger Weems of East Prairie, Jerry and Michael Weems of Benton, Gary Weems of Toccoa, Ga.; and a sister, Joanne Cartwright of Matthews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
