BENTON, Mo. -- Billy Leo Watkins, 87, of Benton, formerly of St. Louis, passed away at his home Wednesday, June 23, 2021.
He was born Dec. 15, 1933, at Greenbrier, Missouri, the son of Omar and Lettie Davis Watkins.
Billy retired from Lindberg Steel Treating in St. Louis after more than 35 years of service. He had made countless friends being part of the Five Star Senior Center in St. Louis. It made his day to walk to Jack in the Box restaurant and drink coffee with his friends. He was an avid music fan.
Survivors include two sisters, Blenda Banks of Bloomfield, Missouri, and Wanda Yancy of Dexter, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Stasha Cook, Kasie Williams, Chelsy Williams, Justin Williams, Jessy Williams, Jake Williams and Jerett Williams; eight great-grandchildren, Ashgen Dozier, Mason Dozier, Hailey Cook, Kirsten Cook, Madison Cook, Brailyn Williams, Cali Williams, Hunter Williford and two babies on the way; and one great-great-grandchild on the way.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Tammy Williams; and a brother, Lowell Watkins.
Visitation will be from noon to 2:00 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, Missouri.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will follow at Cato Cemetery near Arab, Missouri.
