Billy G. Long, 83, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Jackson, died Saturday, July 10, 2010, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born Feb. 8, 1927, in Jackson to Frank and Lula Yoder Long.
He and Evelyn Sewing were married on July 27, 1945.
Mr. Long worked as a clerk in a hardware store. Later he was employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Jackson for 30 years as a mail carrier.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Long of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Winnie Long of Festus, Mo., Cheryl Hoemann of Montgomery City, Mo., and Mary Jane Long of Cape Girardeau; a son, Larry Lynn Long of Richmond, Mo.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two great-grandchildren; two brothers and five sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
