Billy Joe Littleton, 82, of Cumberland, R.I., died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at Hebert Nursing Home in Smithfield, R.I.
He was born in Cape Girardeau, son of Joe and Lela McClard Littleton. He married Constance Drolet.
Littleton had lived in Cumberland the past 42 years. He was a painting contractor 32 years and was employed by Cumberland School Department eight years.
He served 20 years in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II, the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War.
Littleton was a communicant of St. John Vianney Church and a member of its Men's Club, member of Pawtucket Fleet Reserve Association and an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Leslie Littleton of West Warwick, R.I.; a son, Brian Littleton of Cranston, R.I.; a brother, Gene Littleton of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Wanda Goodman and Yvetta Barnhart of Cape Girardeau, Peggy Sue Kaufman of McClure, Ill.; and a grandson, William Littleton of Cranston.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at J.J. Duffy Funeral Home in Cumberland.
A funeral with military honors will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. at St. John Vianney Church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland.
