Billy Lee Kester, 65, 507 S. Sprigg, died Monday, July 7, 1997, at his home.
He was born March 1, 1932, in Cape Girardeau, son of Fredrick and Mary Mae Cobble Kester. He and Mary Jo Jacobs were married Sept. 30, 1952, in Paragould, Ark.
Kester was a carpenter. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Men's Club. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, and received the National Defense Service Medal and Navy Occupational Service Medal with European clasp.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jo Enzmann of Wildwood; two sisters, Lucy Seabaugh of Perryville, Lillie Johnson of Bakersfield, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-7 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at the chapel at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Steven MacDougall officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
