WAPPAPELLO, Mo. -- Billy Martin Jackson, 75, of Wappapello passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at John J. Pershing VA Hospital in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Billy was born Sept. 4, 1941, at Anniston, Missouri, the son of John Franklin and Mamie Evelyn Carroll.
Billy retired from the U.S. Air Force after 30 years of service. He also had held civil-service jobs. He was a member of the Wappapello Veterans of Foreign Wars. He believed in the Christian faith.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth and Robert Jackson, both of Missouri, and Michael Jackson of Ohio; a daughter, Trish Huskey of Missouri; a brother, Bob Jackson of Missouri; two sisters, Doris Esparza and Sue Esparza, both of Illinois; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Cletus, Charley and Oliver Jackson; and a sister, Georgia Cookemboo.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, Missouri.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Alvie Richmond officiating. Burial will be at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military rites.
