SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Billy Edward Davis, 90, of Sedgewickville, formerly of Scott City, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 15, 1931, in Steele, Missouri, to Herman and Lorene Russom Davis. He married Adajane Schlenker on July 18, 1953. She preceded him in death Dec. 19, 2014.
Billy worked for the Marquette Cement Company for 30 years, retiring in 1984. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during the Korean conflict.
He is survived by a daughter, Dixie (Danny) Thompson of Sedgewickville; grandson, Brent (Amber) Whittington; two granddaughters, Morgan and Sierra Thompson; sister, Joan (Jim) Pell and Gloria (Ralph) Berringer of Scott City; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Billy was also preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the chapel with Brother Jim Collins officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
