BILLY BRAGG

Billy Joe Bragg, 72, of Elk Grove Village, Ill., died Sunday, July 29, 2001, at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village.

He was born June 7, 1929, in Cape Girardeau. He and Lorene E. Biri were married Feb. 20, 1948, at Glen Allen, Mo. She died June 24, 2001.

Bragg lived in Elk Grove Village 39 years. He was retired from Alexian Brothers Hospital.

He served in the U.S. Army from April 3, 1946, to Feb. 14, 1947.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Hansen of Bloomingdale, Ill., Sheila Bragg of Schaumburg, Ill.; and a brother, Orville Gene Bragg of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

There is no visitation.

Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lorimier Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Henrichs will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 3838.

Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
