CLIO, Iowa -- Billie True Sheppard, 71, of Clio died Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, at Corydon. He was born July 26, 1927, at Illmo, Mo. On March 11, 1949, he married Luella Langston. She died Nov. 16, 1979. He was raised in Illmo and Scott City and became an Eagle Scout in 1944. CLIO, Iowa -- Billie True Sheppard, 71, of Clio died Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, at Corydon.

He was born July 26, 1927, at Illmo, Mo.

On March 11, 1949, he married Luella Langston. She died Nov. 16, 1979.

He was raised in Illmo and Scott City and became an Eagle Scout in 1944. He earned a bachelor's degree in education at Southeast Missouri State University and a master's degree at the University of Wyoming at Laramie.

He was a teacher and school administrator in several Missouri communities for 30 years before retiring in 1984. He later worked for the Internal Revenue Service.

He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War, and was a member of the Grandview, Mo., VFW post.

He was also a member to the Wayne Lodge 526 of Piedmont, Mo., and the Shrine Club of Springfield, Mo.

Survivors include a son, Billie True Sheppard Jr. of Adrian, Mo.; two daughters, Cindy Lou Robinson of Clio and Rebecca Ann Rollins of Unionville, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

A brother preceded him in death.

Family visitation is today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel in Cape Girardeau.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Leroy Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
