SIKESTON -- Bill Marcus, 53, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Wednesday, May 26, 1993, at his home, following an extended illness.
He was born May 22, 1940, at Morehouse, son of Charlen and Gladys Wright Marcus. He and Jeannie Watson were married April 28, 1964.
Marcus had lived in Houston, Texas, most of his life. He was a self-employed residential and commercial building contractor. He moved to Jacksonville about 18 months ago. He was a member of American Legion and Eagles. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Shavonna Portue of Brentwood, Calif., Linda Fallis of Jacksonville, Brenda Roberts of Troy, Ill., Lee Ann Bagwell of Norcross, Ga., Jeanna Cockrun of Sugar Hill, Ga., and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at McMikle Funeral Chapel in Charleston. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Saturday.
