William C. "Bill" Loveless, 78, of Dexter, Mo., died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 31, 1921, at Lavalle, Mo., son of Edward and Bessie Minehart Loveless. He and Juanita Asher were married Oct. 28, 1946, at Piggott, Ark.
He served in the United States Army during World War II and participated in the invasion of Normandy and the Battle of Omaha Beach.
He was a member of the Parma, Mo., community, having owned and operated Loveless Garage and Service Station and Loveless Auto Sales there for 26 years. He lived in Parma for 46 years before moving to Dexter in 1993.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, a member of the VFW at Parma, the Masonic Lodge at Campbell, Mo., and the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife of Dexter; two daughters, Pamela Robertson of Overland Park, Kan., and Linda Loveless of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Gertrude Hatchel Acord of Dexter; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call from 10:30-11:30 a.m. today at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. at the chapel, with David Bragg officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in Dexter Cemetery.
