BILL DARBY

BERTRAND -- Bill Darby, 79, of Bertrand, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 1991, at Bertrand Retirement Facility.

He was born Feb. 26, 1912, in Senatobia, Miss., son of Rex and Florence Wade Darby. He and Dorothy Howell were married Dec. 25, 1940.

Darby had lived here since 1942, and was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Vicki Walker of Tulsa, Okla., Sheila White of Bertrand; four brothers, Johnny Darby of Harlingen, Texas; Harry Darby of Hayti, Randolph Darby of Wayne, Mich., Robert Darby of Flat Rock, Mich.; three sisters, Aline Beading of Wayne, Frances Wells of Sarasota, Fla., Eugenia Barksdale of Detroit, Mich., and three grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at McMikle Funeral Chapel in Charleston. The Rev. Lee Fansler will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
