SIKESTON, Mo. -- William Russell "Bill" Colbert, 82, of Sikeston died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at his home.
He was born Oct. 11, 1919, in Kirkwood, Mo., son of Raymond Clarence and Lelia Williams Colbert. He and Edna Caul were married Oct. 28, 1961.
Colbert was a graduate of Kirkwood High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University. He was a sales representative for River Cement Co.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Sikeston and was an usher several years, and a member of Engineers Club of St. Louis.
Colbert served in the U.S Army Air Corps during World War II, and was a member of the 110th Observation Squadron of the National Guard.
Survivors include his wife; and a daughter, Lisa Colbert of Sikeston.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Dolan Rogers will officiate, assisted by Dorothy Gardner. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.
