DEXTER, Mo. -- Billy G. Autrey, 66, of Dexter died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn.
He was born March 12, 1934, at Essex, Mo., son of Willie and Fay Evelyn West Autrey. He and Mildred J. Ross were married July 26, 1953, at Florissant, Mo.
Autrey served in the U.S. Air Force 20 years, moving to Dexter in 1971. He owned and operated Autrey's Plumbing many years.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Patrick Alan Autrey of Manassas, Va., Patrick Ross Autrey of Dexter; four daughters, Linda Elliott and Danette Autrey of Mountain Home, Idaho, Mary Smith of Stewartstown, Pa., Andrea Marshall of Seattle, Wash.; four brothers, Donald Autrey of Crystal City, Mo., Richard Autrey of Fort Worth, Texas, James Autrey of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., John Autrey of Washington, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Doyle Corlew officiating. Burial will be in Hagy Cemetery, with the Veterans Honor Guard of Poplar Bluff, Mo., providing full military honors.
