Beverly Lynn Piepenbrok, 71 of Jackson died Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, after losing a valiant six-year battle with progressive supranuclear palsy. Beverly Lynn Piepenbrok, 71 of Jackson died Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, after losing a valiant six-year battle with progressive supranuclear palsy.

She was born Aug. 16, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Glenn A. and Fern J. Yount Seabaugh. She and Jack M. Piepenbrok were married Sept. 5, 1965.

Beverly attended Woodland High School and graduated with a BS in nursing from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1965. She then entered into a distinguished career in nursing. She was a teacher at Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing in Louisville, Kentucky, and Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. She worked extensively in the field of public health nursing for the Missouri Department of Health and the Bollinger County Health Department 39 years, retiring in 2011. She was awarded the Conspicuous Service Medal, the highest civilian medal awarded by the Missouri National Guard, for assistance in the summer training of Guard Medical Units.

In addition to her husband, loving survivors include a son, Andy (Tina) Piepenbrok of Sikeston, Missouri; a daughter, Jessica (Eric) Jansen of Jackson; four precious granddaughters, who were the light of her life, Emma and Lilly Piepenbrok and Annalise and Tavie Jill Jansen; a brother, Michael Lee Seabaugh of Gamaliel, Arkansas; and a sister-in-law, Jill (Don) Holekamp of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Glenn Bill Seabaugh and Larry Wayne Seabaugh.

Visitation will be from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating. Private interment will be at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to New McKendree United Methodist Church, 225 S. High St., Jackson, MO 63755.
