Beverly Hurt

Beverly Hurt, 71, of Jackson peacefully passed away Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, under the care of the most kind and compassionate team of caregivers at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 27, 1950, the daughter of Jack and Nell Hurt, and had a set of fraternal twins, Jill Johnston and Jule Peukert. She will be remembered for the love she put into her cooking for family dinners. She made the best egg sandwiches for her granddaughter, Summer Johnston, and scalloped potatoes and broccoli casserole for the holidays.

She was a huge Beatles fan, played piano, and would have gladly married John Lennon.

Her daughter, Jill (Sam) Johnston; daughter, Jule (John) Peukert; sister, Susan Hurt; and grandchildren, Summer Johnston and Felix Peukert, will miss her very much.

Beverly did not wish to have a funeral or graveside service, and her wishes will be respected.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Community Counseling Center.
