Beverly Beth Barr Griswold, 67, of Sikeston, Mo., ascended to our Lord Jesus Christ on June 25, 2004.
She was born Dec. 10, 1936, at Kansas City, Mo., to Dorothy Roach and was adopted 10 days after birth by M.P. and Louise Barr. She was married to Dr. N.L. Griswold in Buckner, Mo.
Griswold attended Ott School and then graduated from William Chrisman High School in Independence, Mo., in 1953. She was a homemaker as well as a certified pharmacy technician. Griswold lived in a number of states from Fairbanks, Alaska, to Minnesota to Texas, as her husband was a flight surgeon with the U.S. Air Force. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in December 2003.
She was baptized in the First Baptist Church, Independence. They attended Red Star and Morley Baptist Church.
She leaves behind her husband; two daughters, Juanine R. Locklear and husband Bob of Dallas, Texas, Cheri D. Smith of Arizona, who have no children; as well as her son, Mark Griswold, who with his wife Penny of Kansas City have three children and three grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home, Benton, Mo. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morley Baptist Church. Graveside service followed by entombment will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, at Mound Grove Cemetery in Independence.
The family will be greeting mourners in the Family Fellowship Hall of Maywood Baptist Church in nearby Englewood, following graveside services.
