Beulah I. "Boots" Murphy, 85, 536 S. Ellis, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Jan. 19, 1909, in St. Francois County, daughter of Reed J. and Bessie Vandiver Covington. She and Bernal Clayton Murphy were married Aug. 24, 1932, at Bonne Terre.
Murphy was a waitress at Hobbs Grill several years, and was a line inspector at Lowenbaum Dress Factory 20 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, and secretary of the nursery department 25 years.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Lon Murphy of Shreveport, La.; three daughters, Betty Pender and Mary Murphy of Cape Girardeau, Jacqueline Green of Aquilla; two brothers, Harold Covington of Balmeyer, Ill., Bob Covington of Farmington; a sister, Mabel Thurman of Farmington; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Revs. John Owen and Vernon Covington will officiate, with burial in Fairmount Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.
