MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Betty Joyce Ward, 75, of Marble Hill passed away Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 22, 1933, in Charleston, Mo., daughter of George J. and Armentha Tyler Haws. She and William Henry Ward were married Nov. 11, 1951, in Jonesboro, Ark.
Ward retired as a bookkeeper from Yates-Stevens Ford Dealership in Kirkwood, Mo.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Linda J. Ward of Dupo, Ill., Cheryl D. Fain of House Springs, Mo., Karen D. Ward of Columbia, Ill.; her mother of St. Louis; three grandchildren, Alisa Cates, Megan Steahle and Kendra Langley; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Dolly Brown of Jonesboro, Francis Hutson and Maryann Martin of Bertrand, Mo., Judy Whitson of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Charles Haws of Alabama and George R. Haws of Charleston.
She was preceded in death by her father, a grandson, two sisters and a brother.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to service time Monday at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.
The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Fred Ritter officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Jefferson Barracks Cemetery in St. Louis.
