Betty Ann Plaskie, 68, of Whitewater died Saturday, July 11, 2009, at her home.
She was born Dec. 11, 1940, in Union, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur L. and Gladys Fay Mitchell Hunt. She married Donald L. Plaskie in 1957. He died May 17, 2005.
Betty was a private duty nurse in home health care more than 40 years in the St. Louis area. She was a member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church in St. Louis. After the death of her husband, Betty moved to Whitewater to be closer to her children.
Survivors include six sons, John Plaskie of Scott City, Tim Plaskie of Warrensburg, Mo., Mike Plaskie of Branson, Mo., Donnie Plaskie of Whitewater, George Plaskie of Sikeston, Mo., Chuck Plaskie of Springfield, Mo.; an adopted son, Wayne Sanders of Whitewater; two daughters, Crystal Nall of Branson, Florence Carmona of Sikeston; a sister; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson, with parish prayers at 7.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. James P. Grady officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
