Betty Sue Payne passed away Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024, in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Betty Sue Kindred on Aug. 13, 1934, in Oilton, Oklahoma, to Jesse Columbus and Parthenia Tudor Kindred.
She was an amazing, hard-working, selfless woman and a beloved role model for her children and grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her five sons, Joseph Carl (Janice) Payne, D. Mark (Tammy) Payne, Richard L. Payne (Tamilla House), Greg P. (Janet) Payne and Robert D. Payne; grandchildren, Meeshia McKimmey (Greg) Halverson, Shannon McKimmey Crawley, Joseph Payne, Brian (Teresa) Goode, Sydney Payne, Shelby Payne, Allison Payne (Brent) Balsman, Bailey Payne, Emily Payne, Logan Payne, Kylie Payne and Karleigh Payne (Franko) Teston; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sandra K. Payne; grandson, Jonathan McKimmey; and brothers, Leon and Jack Kindred.
Visitation will be from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, with the service following at 1:30 p.m.
