Betty Jo Mosley, 69, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at Life Care Center.
She was born March 27, 1953, to Venice T. Johnson Sr. and Daisy Smith in Caruthersville, Missouri.
She met her husband, Charles E. Mosley, and they married in Cape Girardeau. They were married for decades and produced three sons -- Charles, Brandon and Clayton Mosley.
Betty gave her life to Christ and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Soul for Harvest Ministries, under the leadership of the Rev. Scott Johnson.
Betty was well known for her love and dedication, and she was devoted to her family. She was always kind and helping people in her community. Her passion was sewing and alterations, which motivated her to start her own sewing and alteration business, Sew Unique. She owned and operated the business in Cape Girardeau for more than 20 years until she retired.
Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had a genuine love and concern for her sons and grandchildren, her family as a whole and the people in the community in which she resided. She was a nurturer and always found time in her schedule to offer people her time, her love and her advice for anybody who was in need.
Betty is survived by her children, Charles Mosley II, Brandon Mosley and Clayton Mosley; two grandchildren, Charles Mosley III and Carli Mosley; three sisters, Everlene Falconer, Michelle Smith and Wendy Johnson; five brothers, Richard Smith, Scott Johnson, Tarrvacus Johnson, Arthur Johnson and Calvin Johnson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Venice Johnson and Daisy Smith; husband, Charles E. Mosley; sisters, Angela Johnson, Katherine Johnson and Renee Boyd; and brothers, Venice "Jack" Johnson, Lonnie Johnson, Larry Smith, Mark Johnson and Kinsey Johnson.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan 13, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Burial will follow at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
