CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Betty Lea Dooley Mirly, 75, of Chaffee passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015, at her son's home.
She was born March 16, 1940, in Cape Girardeau to the late Joe Burnett and Imogene Stacy Phillips. Betty married Larry Dooley on Jan. 10, 1959, and he preceded her in death May 14, 1984. She married Marvin "Mert" Mirly on Sept. 18, 1987, and he preceded her in death May 15, 2010.
Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chaffee. She sang in the choir and filled in as organist from time to time.
She was a founding member of both the Chaffee High School Alumni Association and the Chaffee Historical Society.
Survivors include two sons, Randy (Dawn) Dooley and Mitch (Lisa) Dooley, both of Chaffee; one daughter, Tracy (David) Kirchdoerfer of Chaffee; two stepsons, Mike (Debbie) Mirly of Chaffee and Doug (Robin) Mirly of Ballwin, Missouri; one brother, Bob Burnett of Chaffee; three sisters, Mary Lizenbee and Sue Sallee, both of Chaffee, and Judy Horton of Glen Carbon, Illinois; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Burnett.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Chaffee.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Gwen Streeter officiating.
Burial will follow at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southeast Hospice, the First United Methodist Church in Chaffee, the Chaffee Historical Society or the Chaffee High School Alumni Association.
