Betty Long

BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- Betty Lee Long, 77, of Bloomfield died Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Golden Living Center.

She was born Oct. 10, 1930, at Bloomfield, daughter of Riley and Kate Robison Hester. She and Jim Long were married Aug. 20, 1971, at Advance, Mo.

Long worked 40 years at Elder Manufacturing Co. in Dexter, Mo.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Terral Ellsworth of DeSoto, Mo., Michael Stoker of Bloomfield, Danny Stoker of Dexter; a daughter, Kay Pyle of Bloomfield; two stepsons, Michael Long of Monett, Mo., Mitchell Long of Advance; and a stepdaughter, Vicki Long of Iowa.

Also three brothers; Dalton Hester of Florida, Rudolph Hester of O'Fallon, Mo., Gary Hester of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; four sisters, Cozette Williamson of Essex, Mo., Jackie Eaves of Bernie, Mo., Janice Midgett of Dexter, Bonnie Lufler of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister, two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dean Williams officiating. Burial will be in Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
