BETTY LENTZ

MOUNDS, Ill. -- Betty A. Lentz, 69, of Mounds died Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 25, 1932, at Cobden, Ill., daughter of Virgil C. and Anna Jackson Russell. She and Kenneth Lentz were married March 17, 1951, in Mounds. He died in 1999.

Lentz had been a secretary at Thistlewood School. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Smiles I Senior Citizens.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen Anderson of Oran, Mo.; two sons, Kenneth Lentz of Malden, Mo., Virgil Lentz of Mounds; a brother, James Russell of Clearwater, Fla.; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and a grandson.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds from 5-8 p.m. today, and after 8 a.m. Friday.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Revs. Verlee Eaker and Stephen Wolfe will officiate. Burial will be in Spencer Heights Cemetery.
