Betty Laramie

ORAN, Mo. -- Betty Laramie, daughter of the late Lonnie Anthony and Amanda Izada Waldo Anthony, was born April 10, 1934, in Checotah, Oklahoma, and departed her life Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau at the age of 88 years.

She was a member of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, former secretary at Oran Housing Rental and a resident of Oran.

She was first united in marriage to A.J. Welter. He preceded her in death May 27, 1982. She was then united in marriage to Lambert Laramie, and he preceded her in death February 1995.

Survivors include three daughters, Debra Dirnberger, Rhonda (Ronnie) Hurst and Nancy (Randy) Abernathy, all of Oran; brother, Charles Anthony of Racine, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Derek Hurst, Amanda Graviett, Lucas Dirnberger, Lauren Crawford and Austin Abernathy; six great-grandchildren, Alliston Graviett, Jaxon Graviett, Pyper Graviett, Cooper Graviett, Kayden Hurst and Kolt Hurst; and one great-grandchild in February and one more in June.

Besides her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Tom Dirnberger; two brothers, Everett Anthony and Elmer Anthony; and two sisters, Opal Liles and Mary Blackburn.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, with a parish prayer service at 4 p.m., at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.

Eucharistic Celebration will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. Interment will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
