PATTON, Mo. -- Betty Arlene Shipley Shell Jordan, 88, of Patton went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 22, 2019.
Born April 16, 1930, in Decatur, Illinois, to Charles and Goldie Haslett Shipley, she was the beloved sister to Donald Dean, Gene, Fred and George.
She and Truman Dale Shell were united in marriage July 4, 1947. This union was blessed with three daughters, Brenda Grant and Norma Davault of Glen Allen, Missouri; and Kimberly (Ron) Scott of Wadsworth, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-stepgrandchild; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-stepgrandchildren.
After the death of Dale on April 2, 1991, God blessed her with a new love, Warren Eugene Jordan. They were united in marriage April 9, 1994. To this union, Betty gained the title "Mom" to Mary (Roger) Cash of Laurens, South Carolina, Raymound Jordan of Boyd, Texas, and Cindy (Kirk) Lowe of Cerro Gordo, Illinois; and "Grandma" to 10 more grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was an "Honorary Grandma" to neighbors Preston, Garret, Kendra, Bethany, Olivia and Joel Watts.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She loved to garden, quilt, embroider, fish, watch birds and read her Bible.
She worked in numerous factories in her life and was a faithful servant to her Lord. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She became a member of Harvest Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson in 2017, but it was her decision to ask Jesus Christ into her heart at the age of 9 bringing salvation and giving her a home in heaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; four brothers; daughter, Brenda; and three grandchildren, Angel, Andrea and Donnie Ray.
Visitation was Monday at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Missouri.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at the funeral home, with Pastor Randall Perkey and her grandson, Jeremiah Collier, officiating. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery in Marble Hill.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
