CHARLESTON -- Betty Jo Barnbrook Ransom, 71, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 1994, at her home in Charleston.
She was born March 23, 1923, in Mississippi County, the daughter of Edgar Altus and Lora Mae Prosser Barnbrook.
She lived in Mississippi County most of her life, and she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Charleston. She also was an office assistant for Dr. T.P. Fenton until her retirement in 1974.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth E. Vowels of Sikeston and John D. Richardson of Charleston; two daughters, Carolyn Jo Vowels Ponder of Colleyville, Texas, and Ann Richardson McQuiston of Charleston; a sister, Marcelle Vowels of Charleston; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a grandson.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Gerald Collier will officiate, and burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
